Enroll in Course
Creating a world from scratch is a daunting task. How do you form a clear idea of your fantastical setting? How do you create a sense of history and culture? How do you describe it to your readers so that they believe in it? Whether you're a fiction or games writer, or a Dungeon Master looking to make a better setting for your player characters, learn how to build your universe, and create the illusion that it's as real as the world we live in, through creation techniques and literary devices!

Diane Morrison is a hybrid SF/F writer who has been both traditionally and independently published. Her stories have appeared in several semi-prozines, anthologies and book bundles, and her story "The Mysterious Death of Mr. Park" was a runner-up for the Writers of the Future competition. She spearheaded "Gunsmoke & Dragonfire: A Fantasy Western Anthology," which came out early this year to excellent reviews. An avid National Novel Writing Month participant, she co-manages the official SFWA YouTube channel with former SFWA President Cat Rambo, who kindly blurbed her serial novel, "Once Upon a Time in the Wyrd West." Her reviews often laud her worldbuilding. Under her pen name "Sable Aradia," she is also a successful Pagan non-fiction writer and columnist. She lives in Vernon, BC, Canada with her partners and her three-legged furbaby.
